The Role and Responsibilities

The Statistics and Analytics Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research activities of the School in the area of Statistics and Analytics. The Lecturer will also be responsible for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and professional capabilities relevant to this discipline. The Lecturer is expected to actively promote the discipline by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.  The Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation.

 

The Lecturer will supervise research students in postgraduate research programs; contribute to the School research efforts, including research publications and competitive grant applications; offer effective participation and initiative in the development of online courses. They will be expected to contribute to the teaching and course development within the Statistics and Analytics programmes within the school and this may require short periods of teaching at overseas campuses or campuses of our partners overseas.

 

Skills & Experience Required

To be eligible to apply, candidates must have a PhD in Statistics (or equivalent).

 

Candidates should have demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver Statistics and analytics courses, in particular demonstrate skills in statistical computing using industry leading packages such as R, SAS and Python, have proven ability to develop innovative approaches to course delivery including online, and student-centred learning that successfully exploits new technologies, with a commitment to continuous quality improvement through ongoing training and development
