The Research and Innovation Portfolio oversees research and research training across the University through the development and implementation of RMIT University’s strategic research priorities and managing research systems and reporting requirements. The Portfolio supports the research activity of staff and student researchers with professional development, collaboration and funding opportunities, ethics and responsible conduct compliance, contract development, intellectual property, project completions and profiling.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Analytics and Insights Specialist will be responsible for the collection, verification, analysis, modelling, visualisation and reporting of research performance information across the university.  You will work collaboratively with members of the information and reporting team to ensure that the information is collected in an efficient and effective manner and that the information is converted into valuable analysis with rich insights and actionable recommendations.   

Skills and Experience Required

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification and substantial experience in data analytics,  visualisation and in-depth report writing. Experience in media and market performance analysis and reporting is valued.

You will be experienced in the analysis of large data sets for understanding organisation performance and identifying trends and opportunities. Your excellent interpersonal communication skills to convey complex information and concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences at senior levels will be essential to your success in this role. You will be able to manage competing priorities and have exceptional attention to detail. Furthermore, you will have high level skills in working with databases and information collection and management systems.
