Information Technology Services (ITS) provides RMIT University with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and services. Our role is to support RMIT’s high quality teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. Information Technology is of increasing importance to the research, teaching and learning life of a university, particularly a ‘global university of technology and design’ like RMIT. ITS has developed, in conjunction with the broader University, an ICT Plan to 2020.
The Role & Your Responsibilities
The Technical Support Officer will be an extension of the ITS University Operations team based in Melbourne. This role will be customer facing and will require excellent customer service skills combined with a solid generalist knowledge of IT. The Technical Support Officer will be required to provide all on premise technical support to the staff in the Barcelona office, this includes; O365 support and configuration assistance, Skype for Business support, Video Conferencing, Desktop Support for both Windows and Mac, Printing Support and basic networking support and WIFI.
Skills & Experience Required
As the successful candidate you will have a track record of successfully supporting a small modern office with varied technologies including the management, maintenance and provisioning of all on site IT services. You will also have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and have a strong ability to think creatively and to meet deadlines in a complex and demanding environment. In addition, you will be fluent in English and Spanish and be able to legally work in Spain. Your ability to work cooperatively within a team, imparting knowledge and sharing experience with others will be imperative to your success in this role.
