RMIT’s Research and Innovation Portfolio supports researchers to help shape the world.  Part of the Research and Innovation Portfolio, Research Strategy and Services supports researchers to achieve excellent research outcomes. Research Strategy and Services supports strategy development and implementation and continuous improvement in services, systems and processes. The team provides expertise and services in grants and research contracts; research integrity, ethics and governance; and data analytics and reporting.

The Role

The Research Editing and Reporting Coordinator is responsible for the administrative management of all activities associated with Research National Assessments, including Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA), Engagement and Impact Assessment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage the collection of data and supporting documents required by national assessment, in appropriate formats within specified deadlines in liaison with College and School leaders and researchers.
  • Develop and facilitate national assessment training workshops and 1:1 tutorials for new and continuing members of staff.
  • Provide editing, writing and documentation support for staff particularly in developing statements for creative works and the preparation of visual documentation materials for ERA.
  • Provide editing, writing and documentation support for research impact case studies and engagement narratives for Engagement and Impact.
  • Develop procedures relating to national assessments and other research collection and reporting activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Expert knowledge of and experience in national assessment exercises such as ERA and the requirements for research collections and reporting
  • Demonstrated project management and editorial experience
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and to provide clear advice to staff
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in an autonomous role with a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and persistence in achieving timely resolutions while maintaining a high level of commitment to service excellence and client support
  • Well-developed information technology skills

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant work experience is required for success in this position.
