About the role

The Non-Subscription Resources Coordinator leads the team responsible for the acquisition, metadata management, creation and maintenance of access and processing of non-subscription Library resources that support teaching, learning and research at RMIT University. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to bring together their people leadership experience, coupled with a passion for and understanding of library meta-data and emerging/current practices.

The materials managed within this team include e-Books (individual and sets), streamed video, databases, print books and physical audio-visual materials. 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Non-subscription team to build talent, team performance and achievement of results
  • Planning and managing the Non-subscription team’s day to day activities to deliver effective services in an innovative, collaborative and agile environment
  • Maintaining collaborative vendor relationships to achieve excellent purchase, service and return on investment outcomes for the Library and wider University
  • Ensuring the non-subscription resources are relevant and meet the teaching, learning and research needs for RMIT users

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience leading and/or supervising a team to inspire development and drive cultural change, whilst also fostering an environment of continuous improvement and exceptional customer service. Essential to this role, you will have experience in a library acquisitions and metadata environment, and in turn be able to navigate and understand a large Library Service Platform. In addition, you will have experience maintaining effective relationships and collaborating positively with external vendors and key internal stakeholders. Your ability to problem-solve and show initiative will contribute to your success in this exciting library role.
