The establishment of the European Union Centre at RMIT University supports RMIT's mission to build a global university connected to communities, enterprises and industry across the world. This newly created centre will be only one of four EU Centres in the Southern Hemisphere and will be responsible for promoting a better understanding of EU and EU Australia relations; development of innovative academic activities; enhancement of EU visibility; facilitation of student and staff mobility; and the building of EU focussed networks and collaborative activities with academia, industry and the wider community.
The Centre's aim is to be nationally and internationally recognised as a regional centre for EU expertise and an advocate for disseminating information and knowledge. The Director will be responsible for ensuring the centre achieves its aims and objectives, as agreed between the European Commission and RMIT. Specifically, as the Director you will initiate academic courses, research programs and outreach activities that enhance EU understanding. This will involve establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and representing the EU Centre in funding submissions and global meetings.
As an experienced leader you will have demonstrated ability to successfully lead an entity such as the EU Centre. With in depth knowledge and skill in education and research you will have an understanding of EU and EU-Australian relations and issues. With extensive, influencing and negotiation skills you will be able to communicate and work effectively with internal and external groups.
